Denis Angelov is an illustrator who lives in Sofia, Bulgaria. He loves buying and testing out new art supplies which, sooner or later, end up in his books somehow. In his spare time he likes to travel and explore quieter towns, paint wonky abstract landscapes and shoot film.

Dee Costello is a children's book editor and writer who grew up in London, spent a happy chunk of her life in Boston, USA, and is now living by the big, beautiful sea in Worthing, UK. At every opportunity she will try to smell pine trees, cycle, surf, laugh, make arty 'creations' with her two children, and read . . . out loud!

Britta Teckentrup

Britta Teckentrup is an award-winning illustrator and author, having written and illustrated over 80 children’s picture books that have been published in over 20 different countries. After 17 years in the UK, Britta now lives and works in Berlin with her Scottish husband, son Vincent and their old cat Oskar.

Bridget Hamilton

Bridget Hamilton (she/her) is a writer, podcaster, and creative practitioner. Originally from Kent, she headed to the North East of England for university, fell in love with the region and forgot to leave! She now lives in Newcastle upon Tyne with her family and their cat, Scout. Bridget believes that everyone should have the opportunity to read and write stories. Her job sees her travel to schools, youth groups, community centres and even inside prisons to teach creative writing. Meanwhile, her own writing centres around home, family and identity. She has created work for organisations such as the Hexham Book Festival, Kielder Observatory, Poet in the City and BBC Radio Three.

Ben Sanders

Ben Sanders hasn’t stopped drawing since he was a kid. Decades later he still draws . . . and he’s still a kid. Ben lived in the High Andes of Bolivia for several years but his studio can now be found somewhere in Australia. He really dislikes beetroot, so please don’t offer him any.

Becky Davies

Becky is a children’s book editor, and sometimes author, from the South West of England. Her favourite things are animals, books about magic, and anything sparkly. In a parallel universe she lives in Hawaii, where she works in a dog sanctuary and surfs until the sun sets beyond the horizon.

Ada Grey

Ada has been doodling since she was five and always knew she wanted to be an illustrator. She has drawn everything from babies to queens, dinosaurs to unicorns and lots and lots of poo! Ada lives at the top of a steep hill in Brighton and likes growing flowers in her garden that her ginger tom digs up.

Thomas Elliott

Thomas Elliott is an illustrator and designer with a keen love of nature. When he’s not creating beautiful books, he likes to spend time with his family and two dogs.

Tim Warnes

Tim Warnes has been writing and illustrating kids’ books for 30 years. He’s passionate about helping parents and carers use quality picture books to nurture their children. Philip Ardagh

Philip Ardagh<b> </b>is a prolific writer who has been published in forty languages around the world. His titles include the bestselling <i>EDDIE DICKENS</i> trilogy, <i>HIGH IN THE CLOUDS</i>, co-written with Paul McCartney, and <i>STINKING RICH</i> and <i>JUST PLAIN STINKY</i>, the winner of the 2009 Roald Dahl Funny Prize. He stands two metres tall with a most impressive beard, and lives with his wife and son in Kent, the Garden of England.
