EU Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (EUDR)
At Little Tiger Press, we are dedicated to creating inspiring books for children while protecting the planet for future generations. A key part of this commitment is ensuring our products are sourced responsibly and comply with the EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR).
What is the EUDR?
Deforestation contributes significantly to climate change and the loss of biodiversity, and the EU contributes to this through consumption of a significant share of products associated with deforestation. EUDR aims to ensure that a set of key products sold in the EU and globally no longer contribute to deforestation or forest degradation.
EUDR prohibits importing and exporting products to/from the EU market that don’t comply with legality and sustainability requirements. Companies must ensure the products they source are legal and not linked to land that has been deforested or degraded.
EUDR entered into force on 29 June 2023, and becomes applicable to all large companies selling relevant products on 30 December 2025.
Our Commitment
Little Tiger is committed to meeting the EUDR requirements by December 2025 and are working to close any gaps that exist between our current processes and the requirements of EUDR.
- Source responsibly: As of this year, all our books are printed using FSC®-certified materials, and we only work with printers who also hold FSC® Chain of Custody certification.
- Supply chain: We are mapping our paper and board supply chains and engaging with our global suppliers to ensure compliance with EUDR requirements.
- Enhanced due diligence: We are updating our processes to meet all EUDR requirements, including risk assessment, data collection, and maintaining supply chain records.
- Collaboration: We collaborate globally with our colleagues in the Penguin Random House group, to share knowledge and best practice.
- Monitor and adapt: We will continue to review guidance from the EU and update our processes to remain fully compliant.
Our goal is simple: to create wonderful books for children without contributing to deforestation.
