Wendy Meddour

Wendy Meddour was brought up in the seaside town of Aberystwyth. She loved the sea, but she loved books even more, so she left the seaside to study. After getting her doctorate, Wendy went to teach English Literature at Oxford University. But now she’s got the best of both worlds. She lectures, writes and reads her books at a university near the seaside in Devon.

Yumi Stynes is a second-gen Japanese-Australian TV and radio presenter who’s worked in media for almost two decades. She’s currently the host of Ladies, We Need to Talk an award-winning podcast that explores all the trickiest topics and taboos about women’s health.

Thomas Elliott

Thomas Elliott is an illustrator and designer with a keen love of nature. When he’s not creating beautiful books, he likes to spend time with his family and two dogs.

Thomas Pullin

As Thomas spent the majority of his education daydreaming and staring blankly into space, his teachers thought he’d never amount to anything. But it looks like he got the last laugh because since graduating with a BA (Hons) in Illustration from Falmouth University, he now makes a living daydreaming!

Tim Budgen

Tim was born in Surrey in 1977, and is a freelance illustrator. His illustration work has been described as “storytelling with whimsical charm, warmth and humour”, and he’d like to think that is pretty true! To date he has illustrated over 50 children’s books, including: ‘The Magic Pet Shop’ and the ‘20 at Bedtime’ series, and ‘This is Me’ by CBeebies star George Webster.

Tom Knight

After several years of working as a graphic designer, Tom Knight found that true happiness lies in drawing pictures at the bottom of the garden for a living. He lives near Colchester, with his wife, Tabby, and their two boys, and can often be found plonking away on stringed instruments when he should be drawing, or drawing when he probably should be doing the washing up.

Tracy Darnton

Tracy Darnton is the author of Waterstones Children’s Book Prize-shortlisted THE TRUTH ABOUT LIES. Having previously worked as a solicitor, Tracy graduated with Distinction from the Bath Spa MA Writing for Young People in 2016. She won the Stripes YA Short Story Prize, run in partnership with The Bookseller’s YA Book Prize. Tracy lives in Bath with her husband and two sons.
