Authors and illustrators

Ryan Wheatcroft

Ryan studied illustration at the University of Lincoln, England and has worked as an illustrator for the last couple of years since graduating.
He lives on the outskirts of the very hilly city of Sheffield, England, with his family and pets and spends most of his time making pictures for books and magazines.

Samantha Meredith

Samantha Meredith graduated from Loughborough University in 2001 with a BA(Hons) in Illustration. She currently works from a little house in North London, drawing pictures all day whilst drinking tea and wearing panda slippers. She spends most of her time designing and illustrating children’s books. She also occasionally works in-house for various studios… but leaves the pandas at home.

Robert Starling

Robert Starling is happiest when he is drawing, and now divides his time between illustrating for his own stories and for others. A former teacher, he now enjoys performing stories and running workshops. When not drawing, Robert can be found doing daddy duties, brewing strong coffee, or thinking about cake.

Rory Tyger

Rory Tyger is the collective name for Richard Greaves, Tracey Simmons and Gabrielle Murphy. Their studio is a converted barn on a farm in Hertfordshire. In this idyllic setting they work on all kinds of projects, from greetings cards and children’s books to advertising and product design.

Ros Roberts

Ros Roberts grew up when phones were attached to the wall by wiggly wires and music was taped on to cassettes. Amazing teachers encouraged her love of writing, setting her daily challenges to create poems to read to the class. She became a teacher herself; in her own classroom, free writing was a daily necessity and she felt privileged to watch the children’s progress when words flowed without boundaries. Ros loves the rain, eating brunch, tennis and TV. She loves dogs too – Texi, their beautiful Bernese mountain dog, inspired her debut book DIGGER AND ME. Ros and her family have enjoyed living abroad in Vancouver, B.C. and Austin, Texas, but she is very happy and proud to be back living with her husband and three sons in the north of England, where her roots lie.

Rebecca Harry

Rebecca Harry studied design/illustration in Exeter and began her career drawing greetings cards. She has illustrated several books including the Ruby Duckling picture books with Jonathan Emmett. She lives in Cardiff with her two children.
