Nicola was raised by the seaside in beautiful Brighton. She loves reading, dancing, rhyming and turquoise things. She now lives with her husband and son in East London and spends her days writing and editing children’s books. She has been nominated for the UKLA 2019 award. @NicolaBookFace

Natalie Marshall is an internationally published illustrator and author. Her unique illustrations can be found worldwide in books for children as well as on greeting cards and wrapping paper, baby nappies, mugs and packs of blueberries! Natalie lives near the beach in Melbourne, Australia with her bike-loving husband and two busy children.

Louise Forshaw

Louise Forshaw is an illustrator (and sometimes author) living in a small town in the North East, UK. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Animation from Newcastle College. Louise works from home in a small studio, supervised by her three noisy and very mischievous, Jack Russell Terriers.

Laura Dockrill

Laura Dockrill is an award-winning writer from Brixton, South London. She is the author of picture books <i>Angry Cookie</i>, <i>The Lipstick</i> and, most recently, <i>Grey</i>, illustrated by Lauren Child. Her first book for children, <i>Darcy Burdock</i>, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Book of The Year Prize and the Carnegie Medal, and her young adult novel <i>Big Bones</i> was shortlisted for the YA Book Prize 2018 and earned her plaudits like ‘Top 10 Literary Talent’ from <i>The Times</i> newspaper and ‘Top 20 Hot Faces to Watch’ from <i>Elle</i> magazine.

Kip Alizadeh

Kip Alizadeh is an illustrator and visual artist. When they aren’t creating, they like to DJ, spend time with their cats, and play sports. Kip is queer, Iranian, and English, and lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Isabel Otter

Isabel Otter is a children’s book editor and writer. When not writing, you can find her climbing mountains in muddy boots, squirrelled into an armchair with a novel and a cup of tea or tending to her potted plants.

Hannah Tolson

Hannah is a freelance illustrator, currently based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. She has previously studied at Leeds College of Art and then Falmouth University, where she gained her degree in Illustration in 2013. She has since worked with a variety of publishers worldwide, telling stories through pictures using pencils, paint and paper from her home studio. Hannah’s work is inspired by bold colours, playful compositions and a sense of naivety in style.

Dawn Machell

Dawn Machell has been drawing stuff for lots of different kids products for over 30 years. She branched into children's book illustration in 2014 and it's now the very favourite thing that she does. She lives in West Yorkshire and works from her home studio, whilst snacking on cheese and chocolate and dreaming of sunshine.

Grace Habib

Grace Habib started out at a greeting card company as a kids card designer. Soon after, she found her passion as a children’s illustrator. In her free time she enjoys nature parks, visiting local bakeries, and coffee shops. Her favorite baked good is a chocolate croissant.
