
Lou Abercrombie left Durham University with a First Class Maths degree before getting a job in television in London. She later moved to Bath, where she now lives with her children and husband. FIG SWIMS THE WORLD is her debut novel and is inspired by her love of wild swimming.
Lou Kuenzler was brought up on a remote farm on the edge of Dartmoor, where she enjoyed a childhood of sheep, ponies, chickens and dogs. She worked as a theatre director, university drama lecturer and workshop leader before turning her hand to writing stories and plays for children.

Lise Villadsen is a Danish author who began writing at the age of 14. She has published a series of electrifying young adult novels centered around complex family dynamics and youth mental health issues, after making her lauded debut in 2018. Through her highly acclaimed works, Villadsen shrewdly captures the voice of the adolescent generation.
Lindsey is a freelance illustrator based in North West London where she works from her home-studio for a broad range of international clients. Her work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, books on packaging and other products.
Lisa studied Graphic Communications at UCA in Farnham. Initially working as a book designer, she has more recently branched out into the world of illustration. Lisa has been creating art for as long as she can remember and her favourite things to draw are animals and buildings. She loves cake, cats and brightly coloured shirts. Lisa lives in North London with her cat Moo Moo.
Liz Pope gained 1st class honours in Surface Pattern Design from Staffordshire University alongside Kate Pope. They have worked together for the past ten years, developing card ranges, stationery, art prints and illustrating children’s books. Liz’s inspirations come from everyday things, like a rickety old sign or a twisted toothpaste tube. She mostly enjoys simply sketching with her pencil!

Lomp studied visual communications and has been a freelance illustrator since 1996. He started his children’s book career by publishing books by other authors in Germany, and now both writes and illustrates his own books with publishers in Germany, the UK, France, Spain and the United States. He lives with his family in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Loretta has illustrated a number of picture books and fiction titles for younger children. She has always loved drawing and is never happier than when she’s making something. Loretta lives in London, England, with her archaeologist husband and her hamster studio buddy, Nanook, who assists with the creative process by staring really hard at her until she gives him a treat.
