
Paul Mason was born in London and now lives in a cottage on an island in New Zealand with his wife and children. Paul is an editor and writer of children’s non-fiction books. He edited the official children’s guides for the Science Museum in London and the Museum of Science in Manchester, and is a registered STEM ambassador working with Bath Royal Scientific and Literary Institute.
Peter Bently went to ten different schools around the world and studied languages at Oxford University. He started writing for children soon after becoming a parent and now lives with his wife, Lucy, and children, Theo and Tara, in Devon (which has its very own excellent medieval castle). Peter won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2011 with Cats Ahoy!.

Polly studied English at Birmingham University. Her novels have been nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal twice, the Blue Peter Book Award and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Polly lives with her husband in Bristol.
Polona Lovsin has been creating art for as long as she can remember and draws much inspiration from her imaginative childhood. She studied as an Academic Painter at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. She lives in Slovenia with her partner, two daughers and two little mice. Sometimes, she likes to dress in a bear costume!
Poppy is a London girl born and bred. When not writing, she loves visiting art galleries, and hanging out on her houseboat with her pet parrot, Clement.
Penny Dann loved to draw when she was little and she never gave up! As well as being a children’s book illustrator, Penny has also worked on advertising, editorial and packaging projects, and designed a soft toy. After several years travelling and working overseas, she moved back to Brighton and now lives with her partner Tom, a graphic designer, and a very grumpy cat, Earl. She is best known for illustrating The Secret Fairy series for Orchard Books.
Phil Alderson became an illustrator after his early aspirations to be a cool musician dwindled due to the premature loss of his hair in his twenties. Luckily, he was very good at drawing pictures, so he has enjoyed a more successful career in illustration. Phil now revels in being a totally uncool dad to his young daughter and no.1 fan.
