
Sarah is a designer and illustrator living in her hometown of Sheffield, with her husband and ‘studio assistant’ Alfie the border terrier. After working as a designer at Hallmark Cards for a number of years, it was time for a new challenge and to leap into the world of freelance. Sarah now works from her home studio for numerous clients around the world – under the watchful eye of Alfie, of course!
From a young age Rachael Saunders has always loved to draw, so she feels extremely blessed to now have her hobby become a career. With a strong interest in the rich printed aesthetic of 1960’s children’s books, her work explores colour, shape and texture in a vibrant and humorous manner. Rachael is based in Hampshire, UK.
Natalie attended Plymouth College of Art and Design, pursued a career in the Royal Air Force, then returned to Visual Communication as a mature student in Aberdeen. She has been drawing and making things ever since she can remember, coming from a creative family, and her dream job is to illustrate stories full of magic, humour and mythology, or anything a bit scary. Natalie now lives in Devon with her family.
Penny Dann loved to draw when she was little and she never gave up! As well as being a children’s book illustrator, Penny has also worked on advertising, editorial and packaging projects, and designed a soft toy. After several years travelling and working overseas, she moved back to Brighton and now lives with her partner Tom, a graphic designer, and a very grumpy cat, Earl. She is best known for illustrating The Secret Fairy series for Orchard Books.
Natalie Sirett is an internationally exhibited, multimedia artist, interested in us, our icons, our stories. Her work has often explored issues of body image culture and the growing pains of adolescence. WHEN SHADOWS FALL is a project shared with Sita Brahmachari over many years and she is delighted that it has come to fruition. Natalie lives and works in London.
Phùng Nguyên Quang is an illustrator – picture book author based in Saigon, Vietnam. He creates his stunning artwork using a mix of watercolour, acrylic and digital. His works are inspired by the folk culture of Vietnam and Asia.

Nicola Kent is an award-winning author and illustrator of children’s books. She won the Independent Booksellers’ Best New Illustrator Award (2019) and has been shortlisted in both the World Illustration Awards and the Teach Primary Book Awards. She lives in London with her partner, two children, a cat and a dog, and a very untidy desk.
