Steven Lenton

Steven hails from Cheshire where he spent many a school holiday working in the family pom-pom factory, packing poms and designing new products. Since leaving the factory he gained a BA and MA in Animation and has become a successful animator and art director within the realms of children’s television. Steven’s main ambition has always been to be a children’s book maker and he has recently been shortlisted in the Waterstone’s ‘Picture This’ Children’s Book Illustration Competition. Five Christmas Penguins is his first picture book with Little Tiger Press.

Sue Mongredien

Sue Mongredien has written over one hundred books, including the Oliver Moon and The Secret Mermaid series. She has also written the Kitten Club series for Stripes Publishing. Sue lives in Bath with her husband and three children.

Suzanne Chiew

When not immersed in children’s books, Suzanne Chiew loves painting, playing the piano and long walks on the beach.

Suzy Senior

Suzy Senior lives and works at the top of a huge hill in Sheffield. She lives with her family, a small gang of tropical fish and quite a lot of books.

She loves writing picture books, making things rhyme and eating jaffa cakes – ideally all at the same time!

Sophie Aggett

Sophie lives in London and likes to spend her time eating pizza and reading detective stories. She loves her job in children’s publishing but suspects she would be good at solving mysteries too. On retirement, Sophie plans to open a detective agency by the sea.

Sophie Cameron

Sophie Cameron is a YA and MG author from the Scottish Highlands. She studied French and Comparative Literature at the University of Edinburgh and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Creative Writing from Newcastle University. Her debut novel OUT OF THE BLUE was nominated for the Carnegie Medal 2019. She lives in Spain with her family.

Steven Butler

Steven Butler is the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award-winning author of THE NOTHING TO SEE HERE HOTEL as well as THE DIARY OF DENNIS THE MENACE series and THE WRONG PONG series, which was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. He wrote the hit 2015 World Book Day title, WORLD MENACE DAY, as well as regularly hosting World Book Day’s The Biggest Book Show on Earth, which takes place every year to celebrate the event. Steven grew up in Kent, but now lives in London.

Smriti Halls

Smriti is an internationally bestselling, award-winning children’s author, published in more than 35 languages worldwide. She began her career at the BBC and worked for several years as a writer and editor in children’s publishing and television, before taking up writing full time. She lives in London with her husband and three sons, reading, writing and eating sticky buns.

Sufiya Ahmed

Sufiya Ahmed was born in India and arrived in the UK as a baby. She lived in Bolton, Lancashire, before moving to London where she still lives. Sufiya has worked in advertising and in the House of Commons, but is now a full-time author. In 2010 Sufiya set up the BIBI Foundation, a non-profit organisation, to arrange visits to the Houses of Parliament for diverse and underprivileged school children.
