Gary Venn is a freelance illustrator based in New Zealand. He has produced illustrations for children’s books and magazines around the world, including many illustrated maps of various far flung places. He is currently completing his first picture book as both author and illustrator. He loves to draw, and did his first major artwork at the age of 2 on the new wallpaper, (so he is told). His style is based on texture, shape and colour. He makes marks and textures using many different mediums, including: pencil, crayon, ink pen, screen-printing ink and scanned items, which are then put together digitally.
