Sales and Operations Administrator

Our small, dynamic Sales team is seeking a diligent and detail-orientated Sales and Operations Administrator.
You will need to be working in a similar role and ideally have previous exposure as a Sales Co-ordinator/Administrator or Operations/Stock Controller.

The successful applicant will be responsible for inventory management and warehouse liaison as well as other administrative duties.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working as part of the Sales team you will report to the Group Sales Director and work closely with Sales Managers in order to deliver comprehensive and detailed stock/sales analysis
• Maintaining and analysing sales databases, spreadsheets and publishing schedules to track and monitor sales and stock
• Identifying and recommending opportunities in inventory, as well as managing stock schedules and costs
• Communicating relevant changes to the current publishing schedule internally and to third parties where necessary
• Maintaining data integrity of titles at the warehouse and on internal systems i.e. market restrictions, pricing etc
• Directly liaising with our UK warehouse and other external partners to provide relevant stock information and fulfil customer orders
• Overseeing all warehouse sales, orders and dues using relevant programs such as Midas and Vista (training provided)
• Overseeing monthly sales against budget figures and analysing sales and returns
• Ensuring correct invoices and commission statements are provided

Skills required:

• You will have excellent analysis, communications and customer service skills with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team
• You will be highly organised and motivated, and also able to utilise outstanding attention to detail in all communications
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power-point) is essential

Additional Information:
• Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch and a summer hours scheme.
• Salary dependent on experience £20,000- £25,000
• Holiday entitlement is 28 days a year including the time between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed.
• A company pension scheme is available.

Work Experience

Are you interested in a career in publishing? Would you like to learn more about how a children’s publishing house works, gain valuable experience in the industry, and discover what it takes to bring a children’s book to life?

Little Tiger Press offers work experience placements in the Editorial and Design departments. These are unpaid (although we do cover expenses of up to £10 per day) and usually last a fortnight.

Work experience at Little Tiger amounts to much more than tea-making and photocopying. Tasks will vary – from reading new picture book submissions alongside an editor, to assisting the design team, you’ll certainly be kept busy!
